Introducing the “Raptors” quilts, our latest collaboration with Yorkshire based designer Tessa Layzelle. These one-of-a-kind pieces have been handmade entirely from dead stock, end of line linens and repurposed garments, with Scraps used as appliqués. Tessa’s inspiration comes from the term for birds of prey that came up in both Tessa’s kids homeschooling science project
a perfect testament for the strange times during which these pieces were conceived. Three shape motifs appear across the quilts: the square represents the beak, the circle symbolises the eye, the curve is the flight.
